Obituary of Fred Farrell

Farrell, Fred With profound sadness, we announce the death of Frederick Gerard Farrell on May 29, 2015, in his 88th year. Cherished husband and best friend of Rita (Whalen) for 65 years and forever loved by his children, Jim, Veronica (late Fred) Wemp, Gerard (Maureen), Justin, Marylou (John) Immerseel, Agnes (late Ed) McKeown, John (Arden), Lenard (Thersa), Patti Anne (Steve) Walsh, Teresa (Duane) Drew. Predeceased by infant children Danny and Elaine. Loved and adored by his 29 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Irma and Joan Farrell, Eileen Kennelly, Irene and Margie Whalen, Wilma Maracle and brothers-in-law of Jack Kenny and Ted McGuinness. Predeceased by parents, Jack and Annie Farrell, and brothers, Rev. James J. Farrell, S.J., Emmett, Stanley, Charlie (Laura) and sisters Madge (Gerard) Flynn and Eleanor (Frank) McDermott. Brother-in-law to the late Doris (Norm) Purvis, Sr. Gracia Whalen, Peter (Mary) Whalen, Marguerite (Marcel) Patenaude, Jack (Helen) Whalen, Eugene, Mike, Terry and Harold Whalen, Vince Kennelly, Grace Kenny and Rosalyn McGuinness. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Member of International Order of Alhambra, Seneca Caravan 109 and 3rd Degree Member of Knights of Columbus, Council #1008. A true gentleman, Fred loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. A champion of the land, he farmed his whole life but his greatest success and joy was the love he shared for his family and friends. Family and Friends will be received at McGlade Funeral Home on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Monday, June 1, 2015 between the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal with prayers at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Name of Mary Building Fund or the Charity of your Choice in memory of Fred.
