Obituary of Christabelle Atkinson

ATKINSON, Christabelle (Holland nee Clarke) December 23, 1938 to June 4, 2013 Chris (Bellsie) Atkinson of Deseronto, passed away on June 4, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. Chris was born in Belfast, Ireland who joined the Territorial Army at age 16. At age 18 the military posted her to Salisbury Plains, England where she met her first husband. Chris immigrated to Canada in 1958. Chris is survived by her second husband Richard Atkinson, daughter Denise Blades (John) of Yarmouth, NS, son Wayne Holland (Sue) of Trenton, ON, and son Don Holland (Paula) of Calgary, AB, brother John Clarke (Ginny) of Ottawa, ON, sister Ellen (Eleanor) Luney of Kingston, ON, sister Julie Clark (Mike) of Bath, ON, Desmond Holland of Tamworth, ON and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she cherished. In 1991 Chris became a Christian inspiring many friends and relatives with her spiritual nature to welcome Jesus into their lives. Chris met Richard through church and they were married in 2003. Chris was predeceased by her eldest son Paul Holland in 2009. Chris was a very kind and generous person with an infectious laugh that could make you smile instantly not to mention her sparkling blue eyes that held the promise of some mischievousness at play. Family and Friends will be received at McGlade Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2013, between the hours of 2-4 and 7–9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Deseronto Pentecostal Church on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment in Whites Cemetery, Trenton, ON.
