Obituary of Richard Brant

BRANT, Richard Lloyd - Passed away peacefully at home in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Richard was born on July 25, 1954 and was in his 65th year of life. He was a loving and cherished son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. Richard was celebrating his 6th year of sobriety and loved to golf. He is the son of Audrey Brant (nee Maracle) and the late Lloyd Brant. He will be missed by his Children: Angie Brant Brassard (John) and Adam Brant (Josephine Fitzgerald), his Brothers: Jimmy Brant (Paula McDonald) and Lonnie Brant (Noreen), Claus sisters Lynn Brant and Darla Brant (nee Stewart). He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Duncan, Gavin, Jane, Marcus and all his acquired grandchildren, Aidan, Ethan, Lucas, Gavin, Thomas, Martin and Patrick. He will also be missed by his many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. He is predeceased by brothers Harold Bear Brant and Audie Brant (Lori Cicale). He is also survived by his estranged son, Jeremy Brant. Casual, drop in visitation is from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Sunday, May 5th at Lynn’s, 90 Young Street, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. A traditional fire will burn for 10 days to be followed by a feast, Sunday May 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at Lynn’s (90 Young Street). A Celebration Service will be held at the Mohawk Community Centre, York Road, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory on Monday, May 6, 2019 between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. In keeping with his wish cremation will take place following the Celebration Service. For those who wish, memorial donations can be given to Lynn OR McGlade’s Funeral Home. At the request of the Family, ALL donations will be presented at a later date to a community program of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
