MANY YEARS AGO, Ross came to speak at my Bible College, Elim, in NY. He deeply inspired me regarding outreach to Native people for Christ! And now, many years later, I live and share Jesus with Native people on reservations. And am finally in contact with his beloved brother Jonathan Maracle. God bless the MARACLES EVERYWHERE!-Pamela Rae with HOPE FOR TODAY Christian Outreach in Montana

Missionary Evangelist Bill Burkett posted a condolence
Thursday, January 23, 2014
Dear Maracle family: The immediate Maracle family will remember me well. I first visited them when they were missionaries to the Mohawk people and the youngest son had just been born a baby in the crib. We became instant friends of the family and Andrew took me and my wife in young and just out of Bible Institute. Ross was very young but about 8 years later I visited brother Maracle when I was pastor of a sizable church in Indiana and asked to bring Ross back with for the Summer school vacation. I saw in this boy a tremendous potential! He could ask more questions than ten wise men could answer! That inquisitiveness was because he was so motivated to know and learn. I brought him back to Indiana and when the end of Summer vacation came I had answered thousands of questions from this boy. I did everything I could to instill biblical values I knew his mother and father were teaching him. I returned later to visit his Bible College after he had become a known name for representing Indian affairs in Canada by the government. I was so proud of him! I want to say all of this to drop this bottom line for his family and friends that tells a lot about this man. Several years after I made the last visit I received a personal letter from Ross thanking me for the childhood visit when he was a small boy and how much he learned and how much that visit had meant to him through the years. I replied to Ross but I'm sure I fell short of expressing how his letter affected my heart. I send my prayers and encourage every one of them to be very sure you have surrendered everything to the Lordship of Jesus over your life. To be in contact with me please visit my website at www.actsion.com. Hello to all the boys and I still cherish the stone eagle given to me from the gift shop. It reminds me of all the precious memories I have of the Maracle family through those years every time I see it. I saw a cartoon exposing the the injustice of treatment given to Indian treaties and googled his name and found the shocking news of his decease in 2012 and send the belated condolence to all of you who still feel the loss. But all redeemed will all be together and we will never say goodbye again!

Dear Linda and Family:
Through a name search I stumbled upon the news of Ross' passing and am saddened for the loss of a man whom God has used to redeem many lives from the power of sin and Satan to the power of God and light (Acts 26:18).
I enjoyed serving together with Ross on the 1991 National Day of Prayer for Aboriginal Peoples.
The thoughts and prayers of our family are with you during this season of bitter-sweet tears, for we know that Ross is rejoicing with the heavenly Band.

It is because of this man Ross and Roma Fisher on Spirit Alive, I heard about Attawapiskat.
Then a Walk for clean Water, for Attawapiskat fundraiser came to my mind to do.

My condolences go out to the entire Maracle family. Ross was the first friend I remember from Hogansburg, NY. We were like Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer, we had a lot of great adventures. One of the ones I remember clearly is the time we decided to build a camp in the woods. We packed tools and our lunch and set off for the woods. We spent two weeks building a fantastic campsite with a fire pit and some sort of a leanto.
One day we went up and found our camp totally destroyed, apparently some kids had found it. Anyway, we decided to go deeper into the woods and build a new campsite. And that''s what we did, we spent all day working on it. The next time we went up to work on it...it was hidden so well we never did find it again!
Ross was a good friend and will be missed. Some of us only wish we could have touched as many lives as Ross did. RIP my friend. Tony Wigger, VT
