Obituary of Stanley Brant

Thomas James Licari, 94, of Rockford, Illinois died March 30, 2008 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Tom was born October 13, 1913 in Rockford to Nicholas & Mary Licari. Tom spent his working years at Nelson Knitting, retiring as night foreman. He was very proud of having a part in the creation of the Rockford sock monkey. Over the years, he also owned several area restaurants, including the Log Cabin on S. Main and River Lane Cafe in Loves Park. Tom was an avid dancer, walker, bowler and he loved to play Bingo. Survivors include his son, Nicholas (Margo) Licare; step-daughter, Betsy Rexroat; grandchildren, Nick (Stacey) Licari, Valerie (John) Thomas, John, Mike, William (Shelogh) Rexroat and numerous great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Honquest Family Funeral Home, Rockford Chapel 4311 North Mulford Road.
