My condolences to Gertie's family. Gertie was a dear friend and neighbour,we had many interesting chats. Her flower garden gave me such pleasure when i would look out my window. I will miss her.
We always enjoyed spending time with Auntie Gertie over the last many years . She was always in good humor even when I expressed my admiration for Maggie Thatcher which always lead to a lively discussion . She is the last of that Higgins generation and though her mobility was compromised at the end , enjoyed living in the home she loved And her mind was sharp to the end . She indeed had a good innings . Rest In Peace.
