Obituary of Phillip Earl Maracle
Maracle, Phillip Earl
Peacefully passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017, at home with his family holding him and listening to Bob Marley and watching Moana. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life Connie Maracle. Cherished dad of Laura (Andrew), Lenny (Brandie) and Kathy (Tim). Predeceased by his son-in-law Patrick Maracle Jr. Treasured poppa of Jurnee, Jaida, Dawson, Liberty, Jamie, Vegas, Trey, Kooper, Frankie-Lin and Quinn. Dear brother of Karl, Kevin, Roberta and Bonnie. Predeceased by siblings Dennys, Lynn and Ron. Phillip will always be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, sister and brother –in-laws. A sacred fire has been started and will burn until noon on Thursday, July 6th at Laura and Andrew’s house (873A Lower Slash Road). Everyone is welcome to offer tobacco and prayers into the fire. As per Phil’s wishes we will not be having a wake or a funeral service for Phil. The idea of people being sad or crying over him was not something he wanted. He asked that instead we celebrate his life with laughter, smiles, hugs, family, friends and good stories. The Celebration of Life for Phil will be held at the Pow Wow Park (275 Bayshore Road) on Friday, July 7th from 12 to 4 p.m. Please bring your own chair, feast basket (plate, cup, bowl and utensils) if you have one, and a prepared food item for the feast. If you have any photos or stories to share, we would welcome them with open arms. Rain location: Mohawk Community Centre (downstairs) – 1807 York Rd. In respect and honour for Phil’s struggle with addictions and his accomplishment of sobriety in his last stage of life, these events will be alcohol and drug free. Thank you for your respect and kindness. On-line condolences may be made at www.mcgladefuneralhome.com
