Obituary of Richard Bardy

Richard, aka "Ritchie or Sammy", passed away peacefully to begin his spiritual journey at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre in Kingston, Ontario on February 9, 2022 at the age of 75.  One of his final requests was to have a sip of Whiskey and it was provided.  Sorry we couldn't provide the last puff you so desired.

Richard was the beloved son of Gerald and Sarah Bardy.  Predeceased by siblings, Huebert, John, George, Fred, Jim, Evelyn, Betty, Eva, Ruby and Beverly.  He is survived by loving sisters Erma Gray and Millie Hepburn.  Richard is predeceased by his son Ricky and he will be fondly remembered by his children Jerry, Dave (Kim) and Merrily (Tom).  He will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard was well known for his happy go lucky nature.  He loved his music as well as his liquid spirits and occasional trips to the casino.  He was always happy to see family and friends with the usual saying "Come on over here Babe!"

Richard was a proud member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and was happy to accept his medicine pouch to begin his spiritual journey to join special friend Butch.

The family would like to thank Pastor Rod for his kindness and for providing a beautiful service.  We also thank all friends and family members for their words of condolence and their shared stories in Richard's remembrance.

Family and friends will be recieved at M.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 78 Centre Street, Deseronto, Ontario, on Sunday, February 13, 2022 between the hours of 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.  A service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.  Interment to follow in Christ Church Cemetery.

Richard's final request was to be laid to rest on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory beside his sister Millie and he laughingly told her, "Don't be picking my flowers!"
