Claus, Gary Norman
Passed away in his 75th year, at Lennox & Addington Hospital, following a brief illness with his family by his side. A proud Mohawk Man, Gary Norman was born on July 16, 1948 to the late Vernon Leslie and Beatrice (Joan) Claus (nee Rion). Gary loved and cherished his siblings Bonnie (Joe Turcott) of Tyendinaga, Dale (Louise) of Deseronto, Carol Ann of Belleville, Pat (Brian) of Deseronto, Steven of Napanee, Angela (Jamie Zeiman) of Oshawa and his sister-in-law`s Karen and Sue. He is predeceased by his siblings, Donna Lynn, Wayne, Ronnie and Valerie. He will be fondly remembered by his niece Cheryle along with his other 23 Nieces and Nephews, 18 Great Nieces and Nephews and 4 Great, Great Neices and Nephews. Gary was a social butterfly and was an icon in the Downtown area of Picton. Gary enjoyed his daily routine and visits with so many. We would like to thank his friends at Coaches Bar and Grill, Tim Hortons, Sobeys, and Giant Tiger. His neighbours Josiah, Steven and Morey and his friends Marty Dunlop, Clinton, Rhonda, Luke and Alvin. Gary loved bantering with the wonderful staff at Prince Edward County Community Care. Heartfelt thanks to Penny Gale, Jason, Seema, Brittany, Stacey, Holli, Bree and Krista. Special thanks to the folks at the Tyendinaga Elders Lodge Judy, Rose and Canadian Shirt Lady. The family would like to thank Chief Don R. Maracle and Gary`s Christ Church family for supporting his spiritual connection. Family and friends will be received at Smith & Son Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2023 between the hours of 10:00am – 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church, 52 South Church Lane, TMT at 12:30pm following the visitation. Cremation to follow with an Interment at a later date in the Deseronto Cemetery. Following the Funeral Service, everyone is invited to the Deseronto Legion Branch #280, downstairs, for a time of fellowship and refreshments. The family asks that you please bring your instruments.
