Our Dear Sister Vivian was a good older sister.. She had a big heart and a strong personality. By her example, she taught us how to be resilient and determined to overcome the adversities that life hands out. In the summertime, as children, when we visited her she would let us play and took us places. She was Fun! She cared for us. Viv was there, with tender care, right to the end, for our youngest sister Celeste's cancer challenge. That took a lot of strength and love. Viv shared our joys as well as our hardships. She was always ready to give a helping hand though she would definitely say if there was an easier way to do it! If she thought we needed something she'd share whatever she had with us. She was a good listener and with open arms gave us advice. Vivian didn't have an easy life. She worked hard. The last five years were the hardest for her. She would rather have been hit by a bus! She was a close friend and we'll miss her terribly. We'll treasure every special memory of her. Rest in Peace Viv.

Vivian was a beloved friend, she being the one to keep our friendship fresh, I the fortunate recipient of that friendship spanning more than 50 years.
As time goes by, there is something about a long-term friendship that nourishes and sustains us, and we finally realize the beauty of it, sprinkled like gold-dust on our lives.
So it is with me, reviewing Vivvy’s presence, there in the wings, newsy letters documenting the progress of her children and her own enthusiasms following me around the world, she herself catching up with me now and then over the years when I was in Ontario, my pleasure and gratitude for her place in my life boundless.
We were quite unalike, but she was ever gracious in our differences, always there. I will miss her.
Rest with a happy heart, Vivvy.
Lovingly, Fran

I have fond memories of Aunt Vivian when we were young, dressing Di and I in cute cowgirl outfits to go the stampede, paying us to wash dishes and making our summer trips so much fun.
Love,
Sheri

Thanks to Auntie Liz for sending this photo. I am wondering what year it was taken and where.
A cup of tea and a smoke. Classic Mom.
